Glider Innovations

AI for university leaders

A working session for provosts, deans, and department chairs. Your leaders take one hard question from their own institution and work it through with AI, across the dimensions it really has, with the judgment staying with them.

University leaders in a working session

How a session works

A university's hard questions touch many things at once: teaching, research, faculty governance, equity, risk, budgets, and reputation. Most people use AI one question at a time and get one answer back. In a session, your team steers a long conversation with AI across the dimensions a question has and looks at what shows up where they meet. We call the method Multidimensional Gliding.

Your team brings the material: the strategic plan, the accreditation self-study, draft policies, and what you hear from faculty and students. The AI does the reading at scale, and your people decide what matters.

The sample below runs the method on two questions a provost might bring. Pick a dimension, and the page shows what to weigh, a less obvious point, and four parts of that dimension. Below that are the places where it crosses other dimensions, and other questions where the same lens helps.

Try the sample

Two sample questions, eight dimensions each. A real session works on your institution's own question and material.

The sample needs JavaScript to run. The details of the program below read without it.

The program

  • Who it is for

Provosts, deans, and vice provosts, with department chairs and senior academic and administrative leaders. The session is about leading an institution through AI: strategy, policy, and stewardship. Training for faculty and courses for students are separate work.

  • Who is in the room

One institution's leadership team, or a cohort of peers from several institutions who hold similar roles on different campuses. A mixed cohort hears how other places are handling the same decisions.

  • What you do

You bring one real decision your institution faces and work it through with AI, one dimension at a time: teaching, research, faculty governance, equity, risk, budget, and reputation. You leave with a clearer map of that decision and a method you can use again on the next hard question.

  • Format

Anything from a half-day session to a program over several days, in person on your campus or with a cohort, or live on Zoom. We set the format with each institution.

Who leads it

James Intriligator, our founder, leads every session. He trained in perception and cognition at Harvard (PhD) and spent fifteen years at Bangor University in Wales, where he built programs and became Professor of Innovation and Consumer Psychology. He was named a UK National Teaching Fellow in 2014. He has led innovation and AI workshops for physicians and researchers, educators at international teaching conferences, and senior leaders in industry.
